Creating food labels from scratch


The mandatory requirements for food products to be compliant with the ANZ Food Standards Code (ANZFSC).

Covers labelling aspects only, and for food products to be sold in retail.

Activity during course…

Worksheet supplied will be used for exercise to prepare label information for a food product. Will involve discussion but no sharing of formulations.

Attendees take away…

The results of worksheet exercise could be used to create labels for product reviewed, or compared to label already in use, to check for any changes needed.

Attendees to bring…

Formulations and ingredients specifications for a product they manufacture, or indication that they need an example supplied by the facilitator.

Intended audience…

Anyone involved in preparing label compliance information for food products but will be of more benefit to those with little experience in preparing labels.
